ƘɌΞIǤŊ is an American based Electronic Body Music project from Phoenix Arizona. They describe themselves as “a tribute to old-school EBM”, but that’s not the whole story. While their music is rife with homage to pure EBM both new and old, it also shuffles in some broader sounds, and more importantly communicates a sense of personality and swagger. Made up of members of the industrial metal act Hardwire, the duo, Xiån Austin and Ryan Hutman approached their first release with a couple of decades already logged in the game. In 2020, Kreign independently released their explosive self-titled debut album. Later that year, they signed a contract with the German based record label Dark Dimensions Label Group/Scanner Records who would re-release the album. With a new title of “Kreign II” it now featured a second disc with several remixes from some of the industry’s leading acts. In 2021, Kreign unleashed the music video for their single “Break the Beat” which was selected to be on Scanner’s 20 year anniversary compilation. Looking to the future, 2023 will see a new record filled with gnarly soundscapes, hard basslines, phat beats, and aggressive vocals titled “Kreign III” on Scanner.
